Portable household air conditioner: choice, advantages, photo
Today, air conditioning in the house is no surprise. But not so long ago it was an unacceptable luxury. And today, many can not imagine the summer without air conditioning. This is not strange, because on hot days the temperature in the house can reach considerable sizes. It’s normal not to sleep at night, not to rest during the day. That is why “coolers” are so popular. But what if there is no way to install a stationary air conditioner? There is a way out - lightweight, mobile portable air conditioners are a good alternative to stationary.
They have many advantages:
- their movement is possible;
- easily changes the direction of air flow;
- quick installation;
- installation without dirt;
- low cost (average cost - 18-20 thousand rubles);
- small size.
But you can not do without minuses:
- Limited cooling area of 20-25 square meters. Even if manufacturers promise a larger number - do not believe it, because the performance of the device is greatly reduced due to size.
- Air outlet. Necessarily need a window or window for the outflow of hot air
- Noise level. All mobile air conditioners are quite noisy (50 or more dB). To reduce this figure, choose a model with a tangential rather than a blade type of fan.
There are two types of portable household air conditioning:
- monoblock conditioners;
- mobile split system.
Despite the fact that both types are inferior in power to the stationary "brother", they can control the air temperature in the room up to 40 square meters. meters, which is enough for an apartment or a country house. The maximum power of a mobile air conditioner is 4 kW with a stationary wall power of 7-8 kW.
Monoblock conditioner. Monoblock air conditioners are a small “box” with a flexible hose through which hot air is vented to the street. It moves easily, but due to the fact that the compressor is indoors, it makes a lot of noise. Another big drawback is the condensate that accumulates in a special pan. When the pan overflows, the air conditioner automatically turns off and displays a message that the water needs to be drained. The way out is one-piece air conditioners with a built-in evaporator or with a large pallet volume, which, unfortunately, are much more expensive.
Mobile split system. A portable household air conditioner in the form of a mobile split system creates much less noise than a monoblock one. It is divided into two blocks connected by flexible hoses. The indoor unit is in the room, air is drawn through it. The external unit is mounted outside the window or displayed on the street - there is a noisy fan. Due to the presence of an external unit, a mobile split system moves more difficult than a monoblock air conditioner. Condensate drains out the window.

Functions of portable air conditioners
Almost all mobile air conditioners have the same set of features. Using the remote control is adjustable:
- mode: heating, cooling, drainage, automatic maintenance of temperature;
- fan speed
- timer;
- air flow direction.
As you can see, they do not differ absolutely from the functions of wall-mounted air conditioners.
